TestPlant Uses ABBYY OCR to Streamline Software Testing
sponsored by ABBYY
ABSTRACT:
Software testing is essential to the performance and efficiency of your applications. Learn how one company uses ABBYY Optical Character Recognition to spot bugs in applications just as a human would.
There are several methods for monitoring text while testing applications, but none would work with mobile phone applications, until now.
For TestPlant, the solution was plain to see: Integrate Optical Character Recognition (OCR) into their eggplant testing application, and enable it to read text directly off the phone screen–no plug-ins or intermediary steps required. With ABBYY’s FineReader Engine, they were able to interact with the software they were testing in a similar manner to that of a human tester, but with all of the efficiency benefits of automated testing.
